2025/2026 Hockey Season

Welcome to the 2025/2026 Tryouts

There have been changes to the tryout process for the upcoming season. In April, May, and June, a series
of Spring Skates/Camps were held. The Spring Skates/Camps identified the top players in each of the
AA/AAA categories. Hockey Alberta supported the concept of identifying up to 10 players per team for
the upcoming season. CAC identified players and made commitments at the various levels.

U11 AA - 18 player commitments for 2 teams
U13 AA - 9 player commitments to be in the CAC program at U13 AA or AAA
U13 AAA -6 player commitments
U15 AA -0 player commitments to be in the CAC program at U15 AA or AAA
U15 AAA -4 player commitments
U16 AA no player commitments
U17 AAA up to 5 player commitments
U18 AA no player commitments

There are several spots still open for the various teams

U11 AA - 16 open roster spots
U13 AA - 8 minimum open roster spots
U13 AAA - 11 open roster spots
U15 AA - 40 open roster spots
U15 AAA -16 open roster spots
U16 AA -20 open roster spots
U17 AAA -15 minimum open roster spots
U18 AA -20 open roster spots

Tryouts start on August 23 and 24, 2025, for the U11AA, U13 AA/AAA, and U15
AA/AAA categories.

U11 AA there is a series of 4 practices then a Red/White game for the top 46 players. From there the
Two teams will be formed.

U13 AAA there is a series of 4 practices then a Red/White game for the top 34 players. Remaining
Players go to U13 AA.

U15 AAA there is a series of 4 practices then a Red/White game for the top 34 players. Remaining
Players go to U15 AA for 2 practices and a Red/White game (Top 46 players)

Tryouts for U16/17/18
All U16/17 players to start at U17 AAA on the weekend of August 30, 31, September 1, 2025. There will
be a series of practices, then a Red/white game. From there, the 3 teams will be established as U16AA,
U17AAA and U18AA. The schedule is dependent on the players coming back to CAC from the Junior Oilers
program.
