CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

 

U9/U11 FULL DAY HOCKEY CAMPS - Skill Development, Game IQ & Fun - NEW

This full-day camp is designed for players to enjoy two focused ice sessions each day, developing shooting, puck handling, passing, and overall confidence with the puck. On-ice instruction includes battles, puck protection, puck support, angling, positioning, small-area game play, and competitive drills, helping players learn to make quicker, smarter decisions.

Athletes will work on quick and accurate shooting, effective stick handling, crisp passing and puck reception, while also improving hockey IQ with and without the puck through game-based drills, small area games, and scrimmages. Fundamental skating skills are reinforced to ensure players are moving efficiently and powerfully on the ice.

In addition to the ice times, players will participate in off-ice activities focused on movement, athletic development, teamwork, and fun, helping them build strength, coordination, and confidence.

This camp is designed to give players the tools to become better, smarter, and more competitive hockey players—while enjoying a great full day of hockey development.


AA/AAA PREP CAMPS

These camps are designed for competitive players preparing for AA/AAA tryouts and the upcoming season. Training focuses on elite-level skill execution, high-tempo pace, and game-intelligence development. Players will work on advanced skating efficiency, puck control under pressure, quick and accurate shooting, and elite passing and puck support habits.

Sessions include battle and compete drills, small-area games, decision-making under pressure, positioning, and situational gameplay to mirror AAA expectations. Players will be pushed to skate harder, think faster, and execute with precision, building confidence in high-speed environments.

This prep camp helps players elevate their compete level, refine technical skills, and step onto the ice ready to perform at an AAA standard.


 BODY CONTACT CAMP

This checking camp is designed for those players entering their first year at the Bantam level OR 2ND years that want to refresh the skill.  The focus will be on developing the critical skills for giving and receiving body checks, both along the boards and on open ice.  It is vital that every Bantam Hockey player understands and masters the concept and reality of checking and body checking. Focus on the technique of hitting, taking a hit, angling, along boards, and open ice contact.

In this fast-paced camp, drills will incorporate key components such as balance and body positioning, which will help players improve their body checking skills.


TECHNICAL SHOOTING CAMP

This camp is designed to help players develop quicker, more accurate, and more powerful shots through focused technical instruction and high-repetition drills. Athletes will work on shooting mechanics, puck release, shot accuracy, shot selection, and scoring from different areas of the ice. Players will learn how to shoot in stride, change angles, release under pressure, and finish in game-like situations. Through a mix of drills, challenges, and small-area shooting games, players will build confidence with the puck and become more dangerous scoring threats every time they step on the ice.

ADVANCED SHOOTING CAMP

Geared for ages U15 - U19 - This camp is a technical camp that will be mostly individually based. Focus on wrist shots, backhands, snap shots, and slap shots. Stationary shooting, Shooting in Stride, a pass receive shot, push-pull, Deflections, Seam Drives, walkouts.

CAC DEFENCEMAN AGILITY AND SHOOTING CAMP
 
In this camp, we will be working on specific defenseman skills that are needed to be a great D - Man!
 We will work on : skating, inside / outside edge work.   stickhandling technique, passing forehand/backhand. Breakouts, regroups, and walking the O zone B line. wrist shots, slap shots, slinging pucks from the half wall.

PREP CAMPS

Prep Camp is designed for players preparing for the next level of competition. The focus is on high-tempo, game-specific training that sharpens skills, improves hockey IQ, and builds consistency in competitive situations. On-ice sessions emphasize speed, pace, and execution, including puck management, shooting under pressure, battles, positioning, special teams concepts, and game situations.

Players will be challenged through small-area games, high-intensity drills, and scrimmages that demand quick decisions and strong habits with and without the puck. Off the ice, athletes will take part in movement-based training, recovery, and mental preparation, helping them arrive to the season confident, prepared, and ready to compete. This camp is ideal for players looking to fine-tune their game and train at a higher standard.


FORWARD PREP CAMP

This camp is designed specifically for forwards looking to elevate their game and prepare for high-level competition. Players will focus on elite puck skills, scoring ability, speed, and game intelligence, with instruction geared toward developing confident, dynamic offensive players.

Training includes quick-release shooting, scoring in tight, shooting in stride, puck protection, zone entry skills, creating space, and attacking with speed. Players will also work on decision making, timing, offensive positioning, puck support, and reading defenders through game-like drills, small-area battles, and competitive scrimmages.

This camp challenges players to compete at a high pace, think the game faster, and become more dangerous and impactful forwards every shift.

PROGRAM EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

All players are required to wear full hockey equipment

including a CSA-approved neck guard.

Please ensure that all equipment is checked for

fit and condition before your first session.

 

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before each

session to ensure that your player is ready on time.

 

CAC Hockey Development Prep Camps

All Camps will be held at the CAC Arena

The CAC Development Camps provide players age 7- 19 yrs with fundamental instruction in Hockey Skills.

(Under 7 years, if a player has participated in timbits for at least 1 year, this is on a case by case basis please email kpatten@cac-hockey for more information)

Participants will be placed into groups based on age and skill level.

The ratio of students to coaches will be 8 to 1.

  • REFUND POLICY

    • Refunds after July 15thmust be accompanied by a medical certificate to receive a refund.
    • Please submit your request to CAC Office attn: Hockey Development Camps or email to registrar@cac-hockey.com
    • Please allow approximately 3 weeks for processing from the time of notification.
    • Administration and fundraising fees will not be refunded.
    • Fees will be refunded in full minus a $50 Administration Fee per camp if Cancelled before June 1, after June 1st up to July 15th there will be a Cancellation fee of $75.00 per camp.
    • Abuse of Promo codes will result in the player not being able to attend camp until fees are paid in full.
