2026 Dear Canadian Athletic Club members, You may have seen or heard information circulating regarding Hockey Edmonton, and we wanted to take a moment to provide some information.
We are committed to approaching these matters with clarity, respect, and a shared commitment to the game and the families who support it.
Hockey Edmonton members have a responsibility to ensure that the organization continues to operate with strong governance, transparency, and sound financial stewardship.
Some Hockey Edmonton members have expressed concerns regarding certain matters, including:
- Audited financial statements reporting deficits of $302,798 (2024) and $154,727 (2025);
- Possible billing discrepancies exceeding $100,000 identified across recent seasons; and
- Governance requirements under the bylaws.
These items have prompted questions that some members are seeking to have addressed. A formal request to review Hockey Edmonton’s financial records was made by some members in January 2026.
Families who fund the system deserve clarity on how funds are allocated. This is not about conflict or blame. It is about accountability and long-term sustainability. Members of Hockey Edmonton have a duty to ask questions when uncertainties arise and to follow the established bylaws to address them.
With open communication and a shared commitment to transparency and best governance practices, we are confident that Hockey Edmonton can move forward in a positive and constructive way for everyone involved.
