Arizona's Fearless Fight

Recently on the new there was a story regarding a young girl by the name of Arizona who was diagnosed with terminal Brain Cancer at the beginning of October (https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/special-weekend-for-terminally-ill-alta-girl-includes-message-from-ryan-reynolds-halloween-parade-1.5168393).  This story hits home for our team as she is a relative of one of our players (Brandon Poorman).

Arizona's family wants her to live her best life with the time she has left here on this earth.  Unfortunately, due to Covid The Make a Wish Foundation would not fulfill her travel wish. Therefore, her mother and family have chosen to take her on a trip.  Brandon has decided that he would like to help and get his fellow hockey players involved.

Brandon and his family have provided me with the following to share with everyone.

Dear Hockey Families and friends, please share Arizona's story with everyone you know!

Arizona is a 9-year-old beautiful young lady from our Alexander First Nation community and needs our help in fulfilling one of her wishes. You see, Arizona was diagnosed with terminal Brain Cancer at the beginning of October; her family wants Arizona to live her best life with the time she has left on this earth. Arizona’s wish is to travel to New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Los Angeles!!

Brandon and his hockey teammates have asked Arizona and her Mom if they could help with Fundraising.

#hockeyjarchallenge

We have already started an Arizona's Goal jar. How the Arizona Goal Jar works is that each your team scores a goal, spectators can put money in the jar. No donation is too small. Every lit bit helps.  Heck if you want to donate for every goal, feel free to.  Brandon has started of the fundraising with a $100 donation on behalf of the U16 AAA CAC United Cycle and Sports hockey team.

The U16 AAA CAC United Sport and Cycle hockey team challenges all other hockey teams at every level to start and Arizona Goal Jar. #Doyouacceptthechallenge.  If your teams interested in participating, please contact Brandy Poorman at 780-907-3576.

The winning team with the most donations will get clout, their picture taken and be added into our game day program and help a young girl fulfill her dreams.

Donations will be accepted at our game today (October 31) as well as the November 7 and 8 games as the trip is currently planned for November 13.

Thank you for your support

Moosh

Manager, CAC U16AAA United Sport and Cycle

Hockey players, musicians, and star Ryan Reynolds are just a few of the people doing all they can to support nine-year-old Arizona Burns and her family.

On Tuesday we will be present Arizona with various items donated by CAC. One of the items is a CAC jersey that has been autographed by the players.
