Bill Kurucz Memorial Midget Hockey Tournament Registration

Tournament Information (November 10-14, 2021)

Arena: Canadian Athletic Club Arena

Location of arena: 14645 - 142 St, Edmonton Alberta

U18 AA - Max 10 teams (Teams must be sanctioned by Hockey Canada or USA Equivalent)

Game times: Wednesday evening (Nov. 10) - two games (local teams, if available)

First game of the day (Thursday through Saturday) start: 0815
Last game of the day (Thursday through Saturday) start: 2045 (all times subject to slight change)
Semi-finals (top two teams in each pool) and Championship game Sunday Nov. 14, 2021

Duration of games: Three 20-minute stop time periods (overtime/shoot-out if game tied at end of regulation)

Number of games: Four games guaranteed; six games if making it to finals.

Tournament entry fee: $1800 (Canadian)

Gate Pass: Free

Entry Deadline: October 15th, 2021

Refund Policy: No refunds after Oct. 15th, 2021

Awards Information:

a) The team who accumulates the fewest penalties minutes during the round robin, will be eligible to win The Most Sportsmanlike Trophy

b) There will be a Most Valuable Player picked from each team, each game, who will receive a $15 iTunes gift card, and points towards the Most Valuable Player of the tournament trophy. The tournament MVP will receive a Josten’s Kurucz Tournament ring (est. $300.00 value)

We urge you to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, and include the following:

Team Name.
Contact Information.
Non-refundable deposit ($500) to secure entry (Note; refund exemption if cancellation due to Alberta Health COVID restrictions or travel restrictions).
Balance of entry fee ($1300) to be paid by October 15, 2021.
Payment either by cheque payable to Canadian Athletic Club or e-transfer to treasurer@cac-hockey.com.
We will require a Team Roster and Team Picture by October 25th, 2021 to allow time for preparation of the program.
