Alberta Cup Program
The Alberta Cup is the entry level into the High Performance Stream. It continues to the Under 16, Under 17, program. The Alberta Cup Program begins in March each year with over 1000 players trying out at their respective zone camps. There are eight Alberta Cup zones and each player is attempting to land 1 of 20 spots on each of the eight teams. The eight zone teams will then compete in the Alberta Cup Tournament in April. Athletes eligible for the 2010 Alberta Cup program are male players that were born in 1995. Registration- The on line registration for zone camps will be active January 30th at www.hockeyalberta.ca on the Team Alberta link. Fee $110.00
What's included - 2 one hour skill sessions and 3 one and a half hour scrimmage sessions. Total of 6.5 hours of ice. Goalies receive an extra one hour goalie session. Players also receive a camp jersey with their fee.
Team fees- Vary from team to team. Rough number $650 - $850. This includes all expenses. For 2 Day Team Training: ice, accommodations, meals, apparel. For 5 Day Competition: practice ice, accommodations, meals, travel, jersey, jacket
Dates- Zone Camps: March 26-28
- Team Training: April 16-18
- Competition: April 21-25
