Eric Ward is now a member of the Red Deer Rebels.

The Seattle Thunderbirds and Rebels came together on a Monday transaction, sending the 17-year-old to the Rebels in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

A 5-foot-11, 165-pound product of Edmonton, Alta., Ward is currently playing with the CAC Gregg Distributors of the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League, posting a 5-4-3 record, 3.42 goals-against-average, 0.907 save percentage. He’s also picked up a single assist in 720 minutes of action. Ward has also represented Team Edmonton Blue at the 2016 Alberta Cup.

The Thunderbirds are back in action Tuesday, December 11 (7:05 p.m. PT) against the Prince George Cougars. The Rebels are also back in action Tuesday, December 11 (7:00 p.m. MT), playing host to the Kamloops Blazers.
